It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
The Elfyria that we've all come to know and love is here, finally, after many a months! But first, for those of you who don't know the story, (or just forgot it) then here's the synopsis:
Elfyria. A land of magyk and wonder, of ogres and demons, nymphs and faeries. For several centuries, it has been a land of... well, 'peace', per se. There have been no wars, and blood shed has been minimal. There have been the occasional trollings (if you'll excuse the pun) and vampire raids, as well as a short-lived vampyre outbreak; but nothing too serious. Until the Winter solstice, that is. The day the sun went down, and never returned.
Outside the land of Elfyria lay the territories of Light, Darknesse, and Nuetrality. These lands have many other names, such as Heaven and Hell; however, those who live there haven't changed. In Darknesse, demons rage their wrath upon poor mortals foolish enough to wind up their; Lorde is the most ferocious of them all. In Light, angels sing their hymns to the high lord Kami. Nuetrality, the most powerful of the 3--yet the one very few are even aware of--is home to the Balancer, the one who maintains Balance between Light and Darke.
Lorde is the reason for this eternal Darknesse upon Elfyria. It is he who has trapped the Balancer and Kami away and spread his Darke throughout the land, affecting all but the select few who, for various reasons, were not affected. It is these few who must defeat him, or risk losing themselves permanently.
~--Legends--~
Throughout Elfyria, there are multiple things that can aid in the destruction of Darknesse.
These are the Legends, the things spoken about and passed on from generation to generation.
As these can restore the Light, the Darknesse has begun to search for them, so that they can never be obtained and used against the Darknesse.
Together, these three things are said to defeat anything or anyone. Seperately, they are of no use against the Darknesse. All three must be assembled before Lorde can be defeated, and Light restored to the land.
The Staff of Legend - Forged by the gods, this staff is said to be the most powerful magykal device in existance. It is able to summon great tidal waves or seismic cataclysms with a single tap upon the ground or wave through the air. However, it can only be wielded by the most skilled in magyk; those unfit to wield it faced a very disturbing ending.
The Bow of Legend - Arrows of magyk fire from this bow that never misses. It can pierce any armor, no matter how tough, and never runs out of arrows.
The Sword of Legend - It is unknown if this item is still in existence anymore--it's location has been lost for centuries. However, it is said that this Sword was forged by the Gods in the flame of the Dragon. It's hilt is rumoured to be made of man's most precious metal, the dwarves' most precious gems inlaid. It stands for a unity among everything and everyone, a symbol that can last forever. It is as strong as the Ones who made it, its source of power from the unity of the People.
~--Bios--~
Bios should use the following format:
Name:
Age:
Race:
Alignment: (Light, Darknesse, or Nuetrality)
Appearance: (You can just put up a picture, if you have one)
Weapons:
History:
Weakness (must have at least one):
Other:
Rules:
I just have a few simple rules that you need to know. Also, there's some info I need to give on races.
~Godmodding~
Ah, yes. the All-important problem in an rpg. No godmodding, please? If someone gives you permission to post under their character, kindly let me know in an OOC, mmkay? Also, please be considerate of your posting.
~Mary Sue~
Okay, for those of you who aren't familiar with the term, a Mary Sue ("author's pet") is the 'perfect' character. Everything works for them on a first try, and everything goes their way. And when something doesn't go their way, something just *happens* and suddenly everything's going their way.
I don't mind having Mary Sues (in fact, this entire story is perhaps one of the most Mary Sue-ish out there.) but please, just keep them from being copies of another character. Make them your own, please.
~Race~
Nothing too powerful, okay? I don't want a dragon running amuck with a band of humans, it's just too imbalanced. Okay? Okay.
~The difference between a vampyre and a vampire~
Yes, there is a difference. A vampire is your typical bloodsucking fiend, a vampyre is like a vampire but feeds off of abstract things, like emotions, energy, or age. Dun get them confused, mmkay? Mmkay.
~Control by the Darknesse~
If you chose a being, and it has been changed by the Darknesse, it gains power over a certain aspect of Darknesse. Fire bearers can now control dark fire, etc.
All Shadow Beings gain control over 'normal' shadow powers.
Here's an example of what I mean:
Elves - Excellent in both speed and agility. Very strong, and hard to kill. Their specialty magyk is in nature and healing.
If Darkened - gain Darke powers of Nature. Can turn plants evil, can decay instead of Heal.
Humans cannot be gain the power of Darknesse, it devours them.
And now, it's time for Mei's bio. ^^
Name: Meian
Age: Appears to be in 23-ish, is really centuries old.
Race: Fallen Angel
Allegiance: Light
Weapons: Mainly uses Magyk, but can use swords, daggers, etc. just as well.
Appearance: long, gray hair that is never tied back. It comes to just past shoulder-length. He also has creepy eyes that alternated between black, white, and swirl-type mixtures of the two.
He wears a long white robe with a black cape, He carries a double katana, though people have yet to see him use it....
Personality: Contains a near-infinite amount of wisdom, he also views things as a 'whole' rather than a 'piece', as most people do.
History: Previously an angel up with the gods, he's a self-Outcast. After going through a series of painful depressions, he chose a solitary life. He has been living up in the mountains, but when he sensed something was wrong, he ventured South to find that Darknesse was spreading. He then stumbled upon the group of Outcasts, and joined with them to save the land so he could return to his solitary life.
Weakness: He goes through temporary and short depressions, but they start at random, and often cause him to become antisocial for a time.
Other: He is most likely the one who's going to be affected by Darknesse the most, as he is vulnerable during his depressions.
Okay, and with that, I bid you ado for now! I'll be back within the week to check any character sheets up here. Also, for those of you in the original version, I managed to save your character bios--if you want them, just let me know.
