"Wake up Mr. Padilla, you're running late already." a voice whispered, firmly yet delicately.
Wait, who? A female, in his apartment? When did that happen?! Caesar's eyes opened in shock. They took in everything in the room. His pupils closed so rapidly it hurt, he took his handsto his eyes, turned his body upside down and assumed a fetal position. Just where was he? Everything was so. . . white. No place on Earth was supposed to be so white. It was abnormal.
The man raised his head and stared at the wall before him. It was white. Too white. Featureless. Slowly, he stood up, there was nothing. Just him and the whiteness, the featureless whiteness.
"Where am I?" he demanded.
"You are in The Enrichment Center, Mr. Padilla." the voice explained.
"Who are you?!"
"You may call me EVAT, now-"
"Where are you?"
"I do not take kindly to interruptions, Mr. Padilla." the voice scolded. "You're late as it is, please go through the door to become enriched."
A door? How could he have missed a door? A creaking noise alerted him of an opening exit. From the roof a small trapdoor opened, along with a rope ladder. Oh, of course he hadn't noticed, who put a door in the FREAKING CEILING? "Please. . . I want to go home." He begged.
"You are free to do so after you become Enriched, Mr. Padilla, now go through the door."
Caesar gulped and climbed through the ladder, waiting for less whiteness and more explenation.
