Devils and Demons, not all incarnations of these are bred from hell, or the bowels of some ridiculous cave. Humans, Mortal creatures, demons are all around us, and sometimes the only division between Angels and Demons...is perspectives.

Yet there be no winged beings here, oh no, not one of those types of stories. This is a tale of two men. Brothers it could be said, but these two were bound in a match of blood, flame, despair and hope. Lord Cyrus Valentine, an accomplished Alchemist with his past just as shady as his manners, and the man determined to catch him, Clive Treybore. As almost as close as these two men have come to destroying each other in the name of their beliefs. But one thing unifies these two men, and that is power. Power in the form of skills, items, ideas, it didn't matter. Both were driven mad by the constant pursuit of Power, and one wouldn't stop until the other was crushed underfoot.

Could you not say, that You've stepped on someone else to attain your own goals? Aren't you just as bad as these two men? Perhaps they should be praised, their drive, passion, and duty to ideals is constantly being tested and persevering.

These two men have chased each other all across the land of Endiness, in search of items, rivals, and without mention, Power. There has been a myth about a certain item however. The Philosopher's Stone. A stone believed to be the key to Immortality, and with it, the power over death. The Final Frontier. What would these two men do to get it? Anything...oh yes, anything at all. Now the real question is however, what would you do to stop them?

OOC: Alright, I think I've given enough of a background. So I'll break it down right now.
~ No Bios for this. I need a name, and your opener NEEDS to tie in with either of the anti-heros (Cyrus and Clive). You should integrate appearances, weapons, skills, etc into your opener.
~Stick to probabilities. Cyrus is one of the greatest Alchemists on the continent, and he values Magic over Strength, so many other mages and like minded individuals will flock towards him naturally. Clive is one of the greatest Bounty Hunters which ever lived, those who want to test their mettle need not travel far, for Clive will be waiting.
~Generally, I like most people on here and I'd love to have everyone kinda hop onto this. But, as this is my RPG, I will GM when need be (but don't worry, I won't kill off any characters just yet...)
~No one, can choose to be Cyrus or Clive. I'll be playing both.

So feel free to hop on and there's no deadline to hop onto it.
1. Cyrus's Group will start in Western Endiness, in the woods of Krosan, in Old Druid Ruins.
2. Clive's Group will start in the city of Orzhova. (Orzhova is the capital city of Endiness. It's located in the south eastern Corner of the mainland continent.)

Terra Deveaux watched in a bemused, vaguely entertained manner as her grandfather, Beomunt, carefully arranged a large stack of books around her humble abode. In the lit-by-fireplace living room, having that many tomes wasn't a particularly good idea, but Beomunt was known to clutter her home. The stumped man, with his short white beard and wrinkled skin, was a sharp contrast to the young and nubile Terra, and his vigor in his work provided another contrast to her sheer indifference. "My girl! If only you had your father's curiosity, you would've asked why I'm doing this!" Beomunt shouted, causing Terra to wince slightly. "Pray tell, grandfather. My patience isn't infinite, you know." Terra snapped. Beomunt stood up, a cracking sound that came from his back causing Terra to wince yet again, and faced his granddaughter. "Terra, these books, I've been collecting them for a while now. I need you to keep them here, someone is picking them up soon." he said. Terra shot him a glare, her dark red eyes piercing his soft blues. "Pardon?" she hissed. Beomunt hung his head. "I need the money. Please, just keep them here. A man will come by soon, maybe tonight, he'll give you the money! I promise, sweet, nothing is gonna go wrong!" he protested. Terra's glare didn't falter for a second. "Perhaps if you hadn't wasted all of your money, I wouldn't have to play librarian to you." Beomunt still looked ashamed. Terra finally broke her glare and sighed. "Five days, maximum. Get the hell out of my house." she ordered. Beomunt scurried out as fast as lightning, not wanting another drop of ire from his granddaughter.

A few hours later, when it was close to night time, Terra had set about to turn off the lights in her home before settling down to sleep. She approached the fireplace with a bucket of water and was about to extenguish it when the glint of a book caught her eye. Terra set the bucket down and approached the book. It was black, but it had a few red runes on the cover. With an inquisitive look, Terra picked the book up and sat down. She knew a bit of rune reading, from her mother, but nothing too impressive. She was able to make out the title: 'Guide to the Philosopher's Stone'.

"What a ridiculous idea," Terra said after reading a few pages of the book. She crossed it in her arms and made her way up her home's stairs, mulling over the book. She had never heard of this 'Philosopher's Stone', but it was in a book that her grandfather owned, so she believed entirely that it was a fallacy.

"I pity the ignorant fool who is destined to buy this piece of garbage."

OOC: Travis, what is the time period? It felt a bit vague. Obviously, Terra isn't a part of either group, but will most likely join whichever one of the men gets the books(by force or by choice, depends on who it is).

The capital city of Orzhova, wow did he find it dull. There was nothing for Delvion to do. He sat on the top of the tallest building in the city with a look of pure boredom. He had been like this for a while, stuck without anything worthy of a fight. He stood up to his full 6 foot height and brushed brown hair out of his golden eyes but moving it to touch his shoulders. He wore a red long tailed coat that was unbuttoned to reveal a bare chest with a scar across it. He wore a pair of black pants and a pair of black boots. He had no need for armor. Armor made you slow. He wore a necklace that held a green stone and on his shoulders, with his arms resting on it, was his prized weapon. It was a double bladed glaive that had a black staff with three rings in it and the silver blades looked like they were from mechettis rather than the wide blades it usually had.

He got bored with just standing up on the building so he simply dove off. He free fell head first for what seemed like a few seconds and then turned his body to land on his feet without much noise. He had some magic, but it was not typical magic. His magic made him faster, stronger, and take more punishment than humanly possible. He had tuned his magic to make him a weapon. Many people knew Delvion for being a mercenary that was more about fighting than he was for money. Money annoyed him. What he wanted was to cure this boredom that plagued him for so long. Fighting was a quick fix, but even now, his opponents were usually weak. That annoyed him more than money. For now, he would walk the city bored beyond belief praying for something ammusing would happen.

Orzhova, the city that was a bustling metropolis seemed to drift around the man. Although people walked right by him he seemed to be in a world unto his own. The coat that he wore lazily wavered in the wind and beat against the mans calfs. His black undershirt hung tightly to his skin and the pants he wore were neatly tucked into his boots. He walked through the streets and noticed as a small child ran out in front of him. The man stopped and peered out at the child. The child frooze in fear and their mother quickly rushed to scoop the child up. "Why does that individual fear me" pondered the man. "Do I not appear as a normal person" thought the man. "No I am not a normal person" continued the man. He flexed a hand and looked at the townspeople. "They are all insects and I would crush them if I had the desire" thought the man. The little boy looked at the strange man. He wore a coat of mixed black and white colors. It was impossible to tell if the black was the main color or the white. What was most strange about this man however was the two toned mask he wore. The mask covered his entire head and half was white and the other half black. The lips of the black side were white and vice versa for the black side. The man continued to walk down the street, thinking to himself. "What is it that I am searching for" thought the man. "I already posses power. I have no need for companionship. Perhaps I am searching for an identity to call my own" wondered the man. "Yes that was it. I must be able to claim an identity all of my own so that I am able to remove this mask" thought the man. "And to do that I must forge my identity out of my actions" he thought. "I am Gale but what does that even mean? It is but a name, a name that has no meaning behind it due to no beliefs that run my life" he continued to question. "Perhaps there are others that can help me define who I am" thought the man, continuing to walk down the street.

Cyrus had made it through the woods, barely escaping much of the perils surrounding the misty woods around those Ancient Ruins of the Druids.
"Damned Druids. Why wouldn't they just keep their cache of items somewhere easy." He spoke, as he looked back to see how many of his followers had...followed.

"Not a single one. Pity." He spoke as a small succubus sprite appeared above his shoulder.
"You killed all of em, you did." It spoke, sensually.
"Not now Azshara. We're lost."
"And I've found you. You're closer to the stone than you think."
"You've been saying that this entire time. We're in a field, at midnight, and nothing is around us. How exactly do you find this as close? I should have left you in that crypt when you called out to us. Nothing but trouble." Cyrus spoke, flicking the little sprite only to have her come back to him shouting something in tongues.
"In the house on the border of the woods! Do I need to spell everything out for you? Oh High Alchemist." Aszhara laughed as it pointed to a small chimney off in the distance releasing some smoke. "There!"
Cyrus smiled.
"Maybe you are useful after all." He spoke, as he continued to walk towards the house, asides from the slightly billowing smoke from the top, it barely was visible.

Knocking on the wooden door, Cyrus banged a little too hard and knocked open the door.
"Breaking and Entering Cyrus? That's a bit under you." Aszhara giggled.
"Enough. Or I'll turn you to gold and leave you somewhere." Cyrus spoke quickly.

"Hello?"

Clive had just finished turning in the bounty on some no named thug's head. Literally, he had turned in his head as proof.
"We wanted him alive! Dead only if necessary!" Some short and stocky thug had been yelling at Clive the entire time.
"Then it was Necessary." Clive spoke, cold and callous. "What's it to you? He's gone, your competition is out. I want my money."
"You won't get your money. You'll get kill-" He was cut short by Clive pointing a blade to his throat.
"In Orzhova, you pay the gatekeeper. You'll pay me, or you won't walk out of here all in one piece." Clive spoke sternly. "My Money..."

With a quick dart, Clive made three quick slits and sheathed his swords, almost in the blink of an eye.
The Portly Thug said nothing, only coughed, gargled some blood, and fell lifeless to the floor. Clive had killed him without even piercing him with his blades, a unique gift of death-dealers like himself.
"Anyone else not feel like paying the toll?" Clive asked rhetorically, he knew that they had already overturned their coin pouches without question.
"Good boys." He smiled as he picked up some of the pouches, leaving slightly less than half.
"The rest is overpayment, You can keep that." Clive finished as he walked out of the room, his tails flowing around him quickly.
For Clive wasn't the average human, better than that he wasn't human in the slightest bit. That's why he was such a good tracker. Mythos had always called people of his type Shinigami, Kitsune, or anything of the merger of the two. Point in Case, once Clive had caught the scent of someone, they couldn't escape. They would die, if he viewed it necessary. And Only one man had slipped through his grasp.

Smiling he noticed a man garbed in two-tone, White and Black, his face covered by an equally as distracted mask.
"You seem lost." He spoke, as he walked by the toned man. "Need a direction?"

There was something about living close to the woods of Krosan, that always appealed to Roxanne Moon as a child. It's endless expanse of tall, silent trees, and the choice to walk through the trees and feel at one with the world. . .
It was something she had always wanted, something she had always craved. And on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, her wish was granted. She came into ownership of a small, battered cottage near one of the dirt-tracks that lead into the deep forest. It was nothing to look at, mearly a trifle, but Roxanne didn't care. When the wind whispered through the trees outside her window, and the smell of the fresh pine after the rain. . . It was everything she could have ever hoped for.

And out of the way of other people of Endiness, Roxanne felt that here she could really let loose with her magical abilities. Of course, she learnt mostly white magic, Witch magic, all healing and holy magic. But no respecting spell caster would be caught dead without a few offensive spells. Surrounded by her most treasured possessions, her Grimoires, Roxanne studied Magic day and night, and what better place to practice than over at the Old Druid Ruins?

After one fruitful day of studying, armed with her Grimoires in a small swede bag, Roxanne set off to the ruins. Her auburn hair was loose, and was tossled this way and that by a light breeze. She watched for danger with hazel eyes, and bit her lip in thought as she watched the forest before her. A green, shoulderless tunic covered her top, with green velvety sleeves on her arms, not attached to her main garnment, fluttering around her wrists as she walked, swinging her arms slightly. A brown skirt, which went to her knees, also rippled as she walked, and knee-high brown swede boots with rabbit-tail pom-poms covered her feet. A cord of twine was around her neck, with a chunk of amber hanging from it, bouncing on her chest slightly.
Because of her brisk walk, she arrived at the Old Druid Ruins in a short time from leaving her home. She happily looked around, feeling at home in this place. Although it was a public place, and many knew of its exsistance, she always felt as though it was her place. It belonged to her. So when she was about to cast a spell, and felt Sprite residue in the air, she emmidiately felt brissled. Focusing her abilities, she felt trail, of which the Sprite had gone. Taking a deep breath, Roxanne followed the path, gritting her teeth as she did so. Not out of anger, but of fear. Of what she had read of Sprites, some could villianous, others wonderful companions. She had no way of telling which of the Sprites she was following, but she trusted that her magical powers would defend her enough to allow her to escape.

Stopping to catch her breath, Roxanne bent and out her hands on her knees, gulping air back into her lungs. She straightened slightly, and gasped as she saw movement between the branches. Parting the branches slightly, she saw a man battering down a cottage door. She knew that the Sprite was with the man, and by his behaviour, she couldn't be sure what his disposition was. Still, there was only one way to find out. Squaring her shoulders, she parted the branches enough to let her pass through, and they swung back to their original positions silently. She walked slowly to the man, and paused just out of long-sword distance.
"What are you doing?" She asked quietly, cocking her head and looking at him, her voice sounding more confused and interested than fearful. She crossed her arms and smiled slightly. Whether this man was friend or foe, she hadn't seen another face in a few months, and it was nice.

Azshara answered the call from Roxanne with a quick licking answer and a few sparks here and there.
"The Master is looking for the owner of this house. He needs a few books." She spoke, crossing her small sprite arms with a quick smile.
"I can answer for myself you know. I'm possibly older than you Azshara." Cyrus spoke taking his head out from inside the room to show his silvery white hair flowing around the back of his head.
"As my friend here said, I'm looking for the owner of this house. You haven't happened to see who lived here have you?" Cyrus spoke, strangely in a chipper decision.

"Or better that, what exactly are you doing out here? It's a bit late for a young girl to be venturing the woods. Dangerous things were let out of those Ruins...er...they're off in the night too." Cyrus stumbled for his words as Aszhara laughed at him.
"The Master has a tendency to be short tongued. So I speak for him. Why are you here girl. And don't you lie to us." Aszhara spoke, sending a few small embers from her tiny hands.

He walked down the street, still with the look of boredom etched in his face. Not even a bar brawl could get rid of this cursed boredom. People passed him without even looking at him, well except those who got smacked in the face by his glaive blades. He received random curses from it, but he did not pay attention. They were a waste of time. He finally smacked someone who got his attention. It was a rather large man who towered over Delvion. The man was build like a mountain, and his head was bald. The Big man shouted.

" How dare you hit the great Cosmus, the strongest man in the city, with that stick you call a weapon! "
He roared with his face getting red. Delvion simply kept walking without even aknowledging the man. Cosmus had too big of an ego to be worth it. This only caused Cosmus to get angry and he picked up Delvion and threw him into a wall and pinned him, Or so he thought. Delvion let him do this just because he did not want to waste the energy on this oversized maggot.
" What's your problem small fry, Do you want me to smash your face in? "

Delvion merely sighed before speaking calmly.
" If you can that is. "
Cosmus threw a punch that hit Delvion, simply because he did not want to move and it left a nice crack in the wall. Delvion spoke with the same monotone Voice, though muffled by the fist that covered his face.
" When are you going to punch me? "
Cosmus grew more enraged and began repeatedly punching Delvion until there was a hole in the wall and Delvion was on the other side covered in rubble, but other than that, unscathed. All the big man's punches did not even effect him.
" Ah man, you got my clothes all dirty and you put me through a bakery of all places. Smells good, but you could of done better. You could of at least put me through a place where there were beautiful women. I would not of minded that, and I might of thanked you, but now all you have done was piss me off. "

Delvion suddenly disappeared. He reappeared in the air infront of Cosmus and then sent a blurring kick. Cosmus was thrown through the building across from him and through several more walls. All together, the big man went through the building, which looked as though it was a meat shop, and across the street into the other building. Cosmus was either dead or simply had several broken bones. Delvion let out an angry groan before walked down the street again bored. This time, everyone avoided him and his weapon.
