RADIOS LUCIS| Planet Bathed in Light

PLOT| Picture your eye balls burning out of your face. Feel the skin melting down your finger tips. The hot rays causing your intestines to be smothered alive. Around the year 50,000 that was the exact fate predicted for the human race. Scientists predicted that humans could not last more than 10,000 more years on planet earth without the sun, greatest friend, turning into the sun, greatest foe. The earth was slowly getting closer and closer to the sun until one day it would be over taken until it became one with the sun.

Luckily for the human race, technology was already on its way to turning science fiction into science fact. The only place for humans to go was up and out. Away from the sun for sure, but where to next was a great mystery. And how they were going to get there loomed over the populace.

Within the next 2,000 years, scientists had created an entire livable enterprise reaching out over lots of space and time. But they had to build these space crafts. In total 5 space crafts were built, each large enough to hold 4 million people on board, but to be stocked with 3 million people (leaving space for a well planned out super race). When one was built it was filled and sent out towards the dark matter, leaving room for engineers to build the next one. Each space craft took roughly 30 years to build so it wasn't until about the year 52,150 that everything was completed.

For some this was a great time in human history. The rich, wealthy, lucky, or just well connected all ensured their continued life and the life of their family members to come. But for another group of people, those that were not one of the lucky 15 million, were all executed. Many did not even try to hide because they would rather take their own life than to know one day that others would burn literally like hell on earth. There were others who decided to continue their life on earth by hiding when they saw everyone else being massacred, but it was all in vain.

The sun ate the earth alive in a mere 9,000 years rather than 10,000. Those on the space crafts were far gone by then, not to be hurt by the great catastrophe that lay ahead for earth. But not so far away as to forget about the fate of a planet once called home.

It is now 150,099 and generations of humans have lived on these space crafts, withstanding the test of time and now space. For those on Space Craft Novu (all 6 characters) the first one sent to space (30 years ahead of the the second Space Craft) a startling announcement was made by the commanding officer.

"Attention! Attention Everyone. This is a very important message," By this point every screen, monitor, or technological device was blaring with a face and voice that could not have been more serious, "a message about the fate of our race."

___HAIR+ Xay's bone straight hair cascades in one layer down her back. The light colour of her hair is not golden, it is not white, and it is not yellow; it is a straw colour that can only be described as truly blonde. The kind of hair colour you would usually see on a fresh faced 5 year old little girl—though Xay is not a fresh faced 5 year old little girl. Xay's hair is quite extraordinary but most cannot tell for she keeps it tucked away in a French twist, or braided intricately; something to keep it out of her way.
___EYES + The colour of her eyes is slightly difficult to describe. Her irises are an intense and vivid sea green but outlined with a majestically dark blue. They truly are a colour of their own—especially when you look up close. That is when one can see all the different shades of green intertwining together to make the brilliant colour seen from afar. Another hard to define thing about her eyes is the shape. It is like a mix between an almond and a walnut. They are extremely large but not quite round enough to be considered doe-like.
___BODY TYPE + Xay just happens to be naturally tall. She stands at 5’11, with legs like a flamingo. Her arms, like her legs, are long and somewhat lanky. From about the age of 11-15 she was a very gangly and thin girl. She usually felt awkward next to other girls her age who were a little curvier or shorter. Now that she is maturing her muscles are catching up to all of the training she has done over the years. Underneath her clothing is a well-defined 4-pack and her thigh muscles could strangle a beaver. She loves her muscles because they showcase all the hard work she’s put forth to being a new age warrior.
___OTHER NOTABLE TRAITS + Xay’s nose is long and thin; ski-slope shaped, really. Since Xay has yet to see the true light of day, her skin is ever pale. She is almost as pale as paper…at least what she has read about it on her electronic tablet.
___CLOTHING + Like most in the new age, she wears tight clothing made from a new technology that creates almost a second skin effect. It is a thick yet lightweight material perfect for life on a space craft. We will see how it stands up on Radios Lucis.

Personality: Though no one uses this word and probably couldn't even tell you what it means, Xay is for all intense and purposes a “Tom-boy”. She loves to be active and always seems to have a need to search for something, but she doesn't know what. Her sense of humor is rather eccentric and sometimes sarcastic but she means well. Everyone to her is a new friend and if they turn out not to be she would never let them know that. When she cares about something she fights till the bitter end and won't let others manipulate her values.

___HAIR+ Spiky red hair embodies Maddoxfs rebellious nature. Most of the time itfs an unkempt mess, adding to his self-acclaimed eruggedf charm.
___EYES + Black eyes are one of the few features that reveal Maddoxfs Asian ancestors. The two scars under his left eye he got from tripping down a space platformfs escalator while goofing around as a teenager. If you asked him though, hefd lie and call them ebattle woundsf.
___BODY TYPE + At 5f10 hefs not the tallest guy around, but he overcompensates for that with his vulgar outbursts and general display of immaturity. He is in excellent physical condition, and likes to go shirtless whenever he can find the excuse. His skin is naturally tanned.
___OTHER NOTABLE TRAITS + Without hair dye his head hair is a boring brown. Maddox is incapable of growing body hair of any kind, which is in some ways good and bad. It certainly saves time shaving. His earring is actually an audio magnifier that he uses mainly to eavesdrop on girls chatting. Itfs actually one of his favorite pastimes, and is one of the reasons why Maddox is so strangely well-informed on rumors and events.
___CLOTHING + His trenchcoat that he wears while wandering about during the stationfs cool-down periods is a throwback from centuries back. He banked a monthfs pay that itfd be coming back in style, but so far the chicks havenft been digging it like hefs hoped. Itfs made of a heavy, water-repellent material that should serve him well on Radios Lucis.

Personality: Unreasonably self-assured, extremely sensitive to criticism, and generally self-centered. The confidence he projects onto others essentially stems from a defense mechanism he learned very early in his life. In the sector he was raised in-a space ghetto, really-if you werenft tough, you were dead meat. Maddox was able to escape the ghetto with the help of his half-brother Strider. Aside from that the two have never seen eye-to-eye. Along the line Maddox started to believe his fake confidence until it was something real. His inability to take criticism probably stems from general immaturity and distrust of authority figures. His self-centered nature is a result of his personal philosophy: that everyonefs only out for themselves, and anyone saying something else has got himself fooled.
