There exists within us all a feeling of trust, hope, and love that cannot be broken, no matter how deeply imbedded and hushed it is. Our loyalty, our weakness, is what makes us ultimately more powerful than the inhuman. This is a lesson learned not through experience, but through existance. Trials await those who cannot realize this.
In the world of Esperta, there is a conflict raging against the king of Malera. The armies of Dominatus, led accordingly by Emperor Dominatus, are threatening him. As King Malera prepares to strike back, a lone deserter of the Dominatus army, a Restrictor by the name of General Mist Rhoswen, is discovering the horrific truth behind her former lord.
There exist those, brought by the Lord, who wish to silence this single voice. Assassins whose only goal, only meaning, is to destroy Rhoswen. They are not alone, though. For other countries, other alliances, also desire her downfall.
Princess Ailena of Malera wishes only for peace for all lands, and fights to keep the various countries from entering a world wide war. In spite of Ailena's best efforts, her father continues his campaign to destroy Dominatus in its weak and fragile state.
Now, King Malera dispatches his army to Dominatus, where General Rhoswen has prepared a powerful counter-force. Even though the Restrictor's undefeatable strategies are well known throughout the lands, King Malera continues his campaign. Is it a trap? Perhaps the secret weapons of the Restrictors will be revealed.
The remnants of the Maleran army struggle to keep themselves alive, but the future is grim. General Rhoswen herself arrives, by airship, to deliver the news: King Malera has set up a trap. These soldiers are what is left of the Maleran army, and their destruction was needed to satisfy King Dominatus's desire- he would spare Malera itself in exchange for the utter destruction of its military.
These soldiers, though, were spared. General Rhoswen allowed them their lives, and herself left without another word. All she gave them was a small satchel of money and the warning that they would not be allowed to live if they returned to Dominatus.
Now, the soldiers had a choice. Live normal lives...or take revenge.
The future belongs not to those who wait...
