"It's complete!" he cried, dropping his screwdriver. "The perfect mass-murder weapon ever devised! This will win the war!"
Anthony Maragua was honored as the greatest scientist in the history of Feriath. His invention would let the Garnets win over the Hanras, finally ending over a century of territorial war. But there was a problem - the bomb was so powerful that they couldn't test it. So they dropped it in the middle of Om-Parith, the capital of the Hanra territory.
After millions of years, after the people were POSITIVE it was a dud, after they turned it into a fountain, after both countries had settled on a peace treaty, the bomb went off. It took out nine cities. The war re-started.
Thousands of years before the bomb went off, a different scientist, Lycra Forks, built a contraption to speak to the people of the future. Hoping to find a way to speed up the nations developement, all she saw was rubble. She kept checking back at the camera for weeks, but saw no sign of life. One day, she had the bright idea of moving the camera. As soon as she thought of the idea, the cameras image changed. She was in the middle of a city - a dirty one. Rubble was everywhere. She moved the camera around a bit, hoping for a different view. She noticed a huge wall, with no apparent gate. She heard a faint shout:
"The TimeCam! It's got an image on it!"

Weapons: Doesn't carry any weapons on hand, but thinks quickly, so could probably find a weapon quickly if ambushed.
History: Lycra Forks lived in the golden age of Feriath. Water was clear, cities were paved with gold, everything was prosperous and peaceful. She grew up with her two sisters happily, left home at 20, and got a job as an inventor. There really isn't anything of particular interest to note.
Extra: She invented the TimeCam.

Weapons: Various sharp objects lying around in his lab, a small pistol in his back pocket, and a machine gun in his desk drawer. Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
History: Anthony Maragua had pretty much the exact same upbringing as Lycra Forks, minus the streets paved with gold and the happiness. His childhood was sort of like living in the projects. Dangerous, unpleasant, but completely uneventful, at least for Anthony.
Extra: He invented the bomb.
