Nuclear war wiped out the majority of the human race over twenty years ago (Ref. – 1A – 9). WWIV destroyed the surface of the Earth. Those few humans who remain survive within one of only a few hundred of Democratic Communes, protected from the dead world by a shielded enclosure, which allows this facility to function for the common good of the Citizens..

Democratic Commune’s provide what is needed for every Citizen to lead a productive life; however, this process requires each Citizen to submit to a neural scan once every seven-day period to allow their Representative to better input information to the Speaker on their behalf.

This system has received a 92% efficiency rating.

Active system status shall be continued indefinitely.



Referential Documentation


Citizen – Surviving human. Contributing member of society, attempting to lead a productive life for the betterment of themselves and the Commune. Mental template from which Representatives are created.

Representative – Citizen analog. Vote and make decisions instantaneously on the Citizen’s behalf. Robotic skeletal structure covered in fibrous non-organic musculature and skin modeled after a particular citizen. Organic CPU based on scans taken from Citizen. Can communicate instantaneously with themselves or with the Speaker. Information is updated every seven-day period. Have a limited capacity for free-will.

Democratic Commune – Self-sustaining human settlement within an anti-radiation shield.

The Speaker – a hive-mind computer which processes and makes decisions for the continued prospering and efficient running of the Commune, is made up of the collective conscience provided by the Representatives and the information it receives as input. It creates laws, declares proclamations, and in the event of a crime, hands down a sentence after a scan of the accused and victim’s minds.

The House – Where Citizen’s submit to scans and medical treatment, Representative’s receive updates and repairs, and the Speaker is contained and protected.

Hey, everyone. So, it’s been a while since I’ve attempted an RPG, but I thought: why the hell not?

This is The Democracy: a futuristic compound where humans who survived the nuclear holocaust walk side by side with robot versions of themselves. These Representatives receive all of the knowledge that is contained within their counterpart’s minds via an advanced scan of the Citizen’s mind. The information, including opinions, memories, personality traits, etc., are then processed as information and uploaded into the Representative’s CPU.

Representative’s have limited free-will; however, because they have all of the memories of the Citizen they are modeled after, along with the memories they have created for themselves, they do have emotions and opinions of their own and are given free-will enough to lead their own lives.


Commands from the Speaker which limit their free-will:

1. A Representative may never harm a Citizen.
2. A Representative may never harm another Representative.
3. A Representative may never harm themselves or allow themselves to be harmed.
4. A Representative may never willingly impersonate a Citizen.
5. A Representative must always wear their badge, identifying them as such.
6. A Representative must always vote on behalf of the Citizen, not themselves.
7. A Representative may not form any relationship with a Citizen that threatens another Citizen’s well-being.
8. A Representative must abide by the laws of the Speaker.
9. A Representative must give a vote when it is called for.
10. A Representative must always assist a Citizen if it does not infringe on any of these commands.

For this RP, I ask that you take on two characters. The Citizen and their Representative.

Because they are not the same person, they should not be the same character. Two bio formats are given, so two are required.


The Speaker’s communications with the Representatives will be through PMs. Any decisions affecting only the operation of Representatives will be sent out this same way. If the Speaker makes a decision which affects the Citizens, it will be announced via speaker system across the Commune.

Feel free to discuss your characters before you post your bios. It would be great to have relationships between characters for the Representatives to accidentally muddle up, etc.

Appointed Job: (Are they a Doctor? A Sustenance Processor? What did the Speaker assign them? Do you they enjoy their job?)

Appearance: (What do they look like?)

Personality: (What effect does their past have on their action? How do they react to situations? Others?)

History: (What has happened so far during their life in the Commune?)

Extras: (How do they feel about the Commune in general? Their Representative? The Speaker? Any relationships with others in the Commune? Their opinions of their Representative do not need to be negative by any means. Anything goes.)

Designation: (Their designation is R-(the age of their Citizen) X (Their Citizen’s initials) Example - R19XLS)

Age: (How long have they been active?)

Appointed Position: (What do they do as determined by the Speaker? Generally this is a manual labor position.)

Appearance: (Do they have any markings or differences about them that they’ve made to distinguish themselves for their Citizen?)

Personality: (Though they share their Citizen’s memories, as well as their own, they are their own person. How do they act differently from their Citizen?)

History: (Any significant history? Relationships with other Representatives? Friendships with Citizens?)

Extra: (How do they feel about their existence? About the Speaker? Their Citizen? How difficult is it to have their own memories clash against their Citizens? Once again, their opinions do not need to be negative.)

Anything would be fine. I'm leaving it open-ended.
Let's put it this way: the Commune is closed off to the outside world, so anything that has to do with maintaining health, energy, food, and water would be necessary and recommended.
