This is it—the mother of all epics out there. An epic of epically epic epicness.
Here’s what’s going down. Take your previous rpgs. Take BLaDDER, and Exodus, Urban Jungle, the Original Legens, Apoc H, and Starfish. Add in Sanctum, it’s sequel, and it’s prequel, and mix in some Revelation and Elfyria. Top it off with Organization XIII: Beneath the Hoods, and smother with some Orb of Power.
That’s right, we went there.
Life was going swell. The big baddy was destroyed, lives were saved, and cities were being rebuilt. Civilization was heading towards Eutopia.
Of course, you know Eutopia’s a myth, right?
Strange things started happening—cows vanishing into thin air, strangely-constructed buildings appearing from nowhere. People landing from the sky, speaking of strange and unknown lands. Everywhere, unexplainable occurances are taking over.
Did I tell you Elfyria is now home to its own active (and quite tremendous) volcano? It certainly wasn’t there last time you were.
Naturally, people are going crazy. Doomsayers roam the lands proclaiming “The end is near!” Self-proclaimed ‘charm masters’ are making fortunes selling useless pieces of carved rocks that are guaranteed to “save one person from the demons feasting upon flesh.” Rogues are growing in number, whole cities are burning themselves to the ground. Mass chaos is taking over—and it’s all planned, of course.
Got your interest now? Good, then I can explain what the hell I’m talking about. Every rpg, every story, and every character we have made is part of it’s own universe. Sanctum? A universe. Elfyria? A universe. Starfish? A universe. We’ve kept them separate, for ease and enjoyment—but now someone, something is tearing the dividing walls down. For what purpose? Who? How?
You can be whichever and however many of your characters as you choose to be. I, for example, plan on playing Des from Orb of Power, Des from the Sanctum series, a Meian, and Marluxia from the Orgy—and that’s just for the beginning. I’m going to pick up my guy from Revelation (you remember, with the Deadly Sins and Heavenly Virtues?), and we’ll be introducing a few rpg’s later on into this story. If the rpg you want isn’t listed up top, just say something to me, Kath, or Gafe, and we’ll work on bringing it in. I ask that you be as many characters as you can be, though—it’ll make things so much easier.
Just a few notes and explanations before we move on:
1. You can only play your own characters. If Bri refuses to come back and play Kel, then no one else can play Kel—we’ll just have to work without one.
2. Universes and worlds *will* be destroyed—when this happens, the characters from this world begin to fade. Time required to fade completely is proportional to a character’s power (the higher the power, the longer the time required to fade completely) and a character’s closeness to the ‘kernel’ of each universe (the closer the relation, the shorter the time until complete fading; more on kernel’s next).
3. Each universe contains a ‘kernel’ somewhere in it. These are generally key parts of each story’s plot—for example, the Mansion in Sanctum. These kernels are the strongest part of each universe; when they are destroyed, the universe is destroyed.
4. The more universes that are destroyed, the more the other universes will collapse on each other. This is most often noticeable, as rifts will begin opening left and right, and various objects/people will begin to be carried into other realms. Rifts may become so large that entire land masses will fall into other universes.
5. Universes can be brought back. However, it takes immense amounts of energy, and requires the mind of someone from said universe. The world will essentially be reconstructed via memories; the entire world will be reconstructed, regardless of how much or how little of the world has been seen by the person. The key limit to this is the person must have been conceived within said universe (upon conception, the person is ‘tethered’ to their specific universe. This connection is what helps a person’s soul to live and thrive).
6. Said connection is dampened whenever a character travels from his/her home world. As such, his/her power diminishes—not an immense difference, mind you. Not yet.
7. The longer time spent away from their home world, the more a person’s power diminishes. As explained above, the connection between world and person provides nourishment for a person’s soul. Extended periods of time without constant nourishment, and the connection will begin to diminish, to the point that it affects a person’s ability to perform things such as magyk. A short trip to his or her homeworld, however, is enough to revitalize a person’s whole being.
8. Once a character fades, they’re gone. They cannot be resurrected unless their world is reestablished. Said character can then only be resurrected from said world.
9. Travelling between universes can only be done through hidden rifts—literally, holes in the walls where two universes meet. Knowledge of such rifts is held by a single digit number of preselected characters; not even legends and lore will contain such information.
10. Universal Law puts the boundaries and walls of a universe above all but one artifact. This means that you cannot create and destroy universes, nor can you hop around betwixt them as you please.
I think that’s about it in the way of notes, now for the rules:
1. NO GODMODDING. This really goes without saying, but since this rpg began in nostalgia of the-n, the rules will continue as such. Of course, the usual “with permission” clause is still in effect.
2. Please, try and keep posts of a relatively nice length. I’m not asking for 7 paragraphs in each post, but 2 or 3 are requested.
3. Arguments are a no-no. We’ve got brains, we’re not complete morons. Use respect and decency, especially if someone does something you don’t agree with.
4. Overpowering is nice, but take it with both a spoonful of sugar and a few grains of salt. You *don’t* have ultimate power, you *can’t* suddenly jump into a different universe to avoid that blow to the back of your head (unless you can jump into a rift fast enough…) and you can’t create a new universe by yourself—nor with others, for that matter (see Universal Law, above, for more info).
Those aren’t too harsh, are they? I don’t think so.
Bios:
Bios will be fairly easy to make, I promise. If you’re like Gafe and saved all your previous bios, you’re set (Congratulations!) for the most part—copy and paste as you please. However, to make things easier to understand and follow, I’m going to require a standard bio format as follows:
Name:
Age:
Weapon:
Appearance:
Personality:
History: (optional) (You really only need to do this section if you use these bios for your character notes. If you fill this out, keep it from their childhood and don’t include the storyline of whatever rpg they’re from. If you choose not to do this, simply write ‘To be revealed IC’)
Extra:
Original RPG: (where was this character introduced from? For example, was it from the Sanctum trilogy, or from Exodus?)
Anything from a different rpg (in Revelation, for example, I required a Sin/Virtue label) should be placed in the Extra section. Pictures for Appearance are optional, but writing a physical description is preferred.
If you can’t remember a character’s bio (or name, for that matter), but would love to reuse him/her, ask around. Someone’s bound to remember. Also, Gafe remembers a few characters from Revelation (if interested), and I have copies of all of the original Elfyrian bios.
Any questions, just ask! I’m hoping to get this baby started next Friday
I'd like to just put a note out there that Kath's character, Ryven, has been cleared for her abilities already. Ryven has knowledge of the omniverse, and is able to create a universe--however, she can use this power without damage to herself only once every... 10 years, I think Kath said? Something like that. For Ryven to attempt it twice would consume her life force.
Alright! We're getting ready to start soon, I just wanna give an explanation for how this universe/multiverse/omniverse thing works.
A few definitions:
Universe - within a single storyline. Think individually, like Sanctum; Elfyria; and Starfish.
Multiverse - collection of storylines, that are connected. For example, should a rift connect Elfyria and Sanctum, they would become part of the Elfyria | Sanctum multiverse (read Elfyria Sanctum Multiverse). to avoid long names and the such, try and avoid writing with this method.
Omniverse - where all the universes are located. Think of this kind of like where the stories are held; for example, Elfyria and Sanctum were both universes located within The-N omniverse.
Void - this is the trickiest bit to explain. The void is just that--void. It has neither measure nor meaning. It's temperature-less, light-less, and gravity-less. It creates an infinite amount of space between two universes, and places no space between universes, simultaneously.
Rift - a tear in the boundary of a universe. When the boundary tears, the universe reaches out and seals itself by attaching to the nearest universe. Think of it like when you lose your balance; reflexively, you grab for the nearest object to hold you up.

You can use this image for reference. Think of each orange circle as a universe. The colorful stuff between the circles are universes-to-be. The black between the circles is the void. The entire picture (as a whole) represents an omniverse.

On the topic of the three Legends of Elfyria:
Elfyria's kernel is the three Legends (Bow, Staff, and Sword). This makes things tricky when one of the three is destroyed.
All three were made in perfect balance with each other--this prevents one of the Legends from blowing the place to hell. When one is destroyed, the other two become unpredictable and highly unstable.
For example, if the Sword was destroyed, several things could happen. The bow could go berserk and begin firing without warning or wielder; or it could become a regularly carved bow. The staff could cause volcanoes to appear and erupt; or it might snap it two from its own uncontrollable power.
Hope this helps, I'll be getting the starting post up ASAP tomorrow (promise! -shot-). Any other questions, post 'em here!
