Title(s): Merchant
Name: Aldan Baider
Age: 25
Race: Human
Affiliation(s): Allied with the Rebels, but trades with anyone and has no qualms about bartering with the seedier sort.
Appearance:
Apparel: Aldan wears clothes that make him look average and easy to look past. Dark greens and blues are the most used, and his hooded jacket is black. The hood is only a recent purchase, as he intends to wear it when he heads out on the mission. His clothes are basic civilian brand, with no protective qualities aside from what clothes would give you. He does not intend to be getting attacked very often, you see.
Weapons: Aldan has only a sword, lightweight with a thin blade and handle. He is proficient at using it in a defensive, fencing style. Aldan also has a longbow that he has been training to use, and he can hit a target from a decent enough distance, so his accuracy is not something to worry about. Still, his combat experience is almost nonexistent.
History: Aldan is from a wealthy family of merchants from Gailurra, and has been raised to continue the tradition. He knows a great deal about trade and economics, as well as how to deal with smugglers and various untrustworthy sort. When Aldan was 15, he went with his father and older sister on a trip to trade some smuggled goods in Hareas. The trip took a week longer than intended due to some issues with their guards, which involved some missing products. This diversion put them behind schedule, and when they returned home they found disaster.
What the disaster was, Aldan never found out. All he knew was that the rest of his family was gone and that they were not safe. His father, Tortell, had been warned by a friend of the family when they arrived in Gailurra not to go to the family estate. Tortell sent Aldan's sister, Ariane, to take Aldan to 'their colleagues' for safety. So Ariane handed Aldan over to the rebels and made an arrangement with them. They would keep Aldan safe from the family's enemies, and in exchange, he would assist them with their money and keep them financially stable. In the meantime, Ariane and Tortell would look into the 'situation'.
This arrangement worked well for several years, almost a decade, but that changed when word was brought that Tortell had died and that Ariane had found out who was behind the disappearance of their family: an Archonite Imperator named Maeverlie. With this knowledge, Aldan could no longer just sit by and count coins for the rebels. He insisted on being sent on the mission he had been appropriating money for. He had been told it was dangerous, risky, and too challenging for him, but Aldan would not budge. He threatened to quit unless he was allowed to go, so the rebels allowed the risk. Whether or not they tell Ariane is another story entirely.
