Throughout history there have been certain events that have forever changed the course of humanity. These tipping points if you will can lead humanity down the road to ruin or provide them with salvation. Each of these events has been observed and recorded by a group of individuals who do not live on this plain. These observers are sent to crucial periods in human civilization to ensure that things play out like time intended for them to. Whether this provides a beneficial facet to civilization is irrelevant, only that the event occurs and humanity remains on its fated track is important. Each group of observers is comprised of a few centurions and one seer. Centurions are essentially bodyguards for the seer and help set in motion what is supposed to occur if any is required. The seer is responsible for looking and seeing the path that time has laid before civilization and informing the rest of the group. These observers are immune from the effects of time and most are centuries old if not more. However they are still mortal to all other forms of death. The death of an observer is very rare though and tends to greatly affect the flow of events. Observers are able to shift through time but only to events that marked as critical. Also once an event has occurred the Observers cannot travel back to it in the hopes of changing the outcome. Outside of Earth these beings dwell in a residence that exists on a separate plane, merely a house that opens to nowhere. The first seer is the leader of the Observers and informs the others of what events are pivotal and in which direction fate has destined them to play out.
Recently however a small group of observers has come to the conclusion that certain events need to be altered from their destined path. This group calls themselves the Court. Humanity would be greatly benefited by the smallest change in flow. It is the responsibility of those with power to use it to better the rest of humanity is the motto of the Court. They use their abilities to “tip” the world in the direction they feel best helps humanity. However this is in direct conflict with the original observers and now they have drawn the wrath of the original observers down upon them. You are a member of the Court and it is up to you to try and push humanity in the right direction. Be careful though, what may appear to be the right direction may topple humanity into oblivion.
So for the bios everyone will have to pick whether they wish to be a part of the Observers or Court as well as what their role in the groups are. I would like for equal amounts of Observers and Court to be represented. Also while Seers are able to see the way things are supposed to happen, they cannot see what the consequences or rewards of their actions will be until back at their own plane of existence. The powers of the observers and court will be revealed as the plot moves along.
