Age Old Battle

Many, many years ago, an angel was cast out of Heaven and fell to Earth. This angel was the Morningstar; Lucifer himself. Lucifer was not the only angel who was cast out of Heaven; his followers fell as well. Then there was the Uncorrupted; Michael and Gabrielle, or Gabriel, as she is also known, who willingly left Heaven and went to Earth to keep Lucifer and his followers from reigning terror over humans.

For centuries, Gabrielle and Michael hunted down and killed Lucifer's followers, sending them deep into the fires of Hell. Then, finally, the Great Battle happened, and Michael and Gabrielle were victorious over Lucifer. However, Lucifer could not be killed, he was far too powerful and strong. So instead, they dragged him deep below the Earth's surface, locking him in an unbreakable cage created by the oldest of magic. Only two keys could open this cage, Gabrielle and Michael each took one, hiding them without even telling the other the location of their key.

Why not simply destroy the keys, you might ask? Simple; the keys couldn't be destroyed anymore then the cage itself.

Centuries have passed since the day Lucifer was defeated. His followers have vanished throughout the years, either killed, or perhaps have even turned their backs on their fallen leader. Michael and Gabrielle have managed to carefully blend into today's society, appearing as any normal couple would. Moving before anyone notices that they haven't aged, with nobody being the wiser.

However, Lucifer's followers were not as extinct as originally believed. They've recently made a reappearance, being led by none other than Lucifer's brother, Leviathan. Leviathan and Lucifer's followers have discovered where the entrance to Lucifer's cage is hidden, underneath the ground of Utopia. A land hidden from human eyes by a powerful spell, where mythological beings roam freely, not bothering to hide their true nature.

Stepping foot inside Utopia is like stepping back in time, yet also like stepping into a completely different world at the same time; where the land is full of age-old castles, where Kings and Queens, and Princes and Princesses control the lands. Where people are still thrown into the dungeons, and dragons are not simply a fairy tale.

Michael and Gabrielle quickly leave their cozy little New York apartment, hurrying back to Utopia, where they recruit an elite group of beings, known as Heaven's Army, to help them in their fight, to hunt down and kill Leviathan and Lucifer's followers. Some of the beings they recruit are new to the fight, and didn't even truly believe in the myth of Lucifer until recently, while others were involved in the fight the first time around. But, rather they be new to the cause, or old veterans, they must work together and be quick, because Leviathan has somehow managed to obtain one of the keys, and is getting closer to finding the second one.

(OOC: I got the idea for the plot while I was reading the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz, so there's a few minor similarities, so some of the credit goes to it.)

All characters are OCs, so have fun. I would appreciate it, though, if someone were to take the role of Michael, rather it be as their main character or a secondary character. If nobody does, then I can take him so that we can start, and if someone is willing to and has any questions, feel free to ask me here or through a PM.

Also, the character of Lucifer is reserved as an NPC to be brought in when the storyline calls for it.

The Rules:

I only have three rules;

1) Everyone has a life, but please try to post often so that this doesn't die.

2) No killing anyone's character unless both the owner of that character and I have agreed to it. However killing an NPC is allowed.

3) Keep it friendly. If you want to argue over something please take it to PM or the C box, and please try to include all of the characters, nobody likes being left out.

Name: Gabrielle

Age: Appears 28

Species: Archangel

Powers: Black Fire, Telekinesis, and one other that will be revealed later.

Weakness: Obviously water is a weakness against her black fire. A second weakness, and maybe a bit unusual considering that she's an archangel, is that she's allergic to alcohol.

Weapons:





Gabrielle's swords can become engulfed with her black fire to make it that much more dangerous.

Appearance:

Personality: Gabrielle is a very complex woman. She's strong, fierce, no non-sense and can go completely emotionless at the drop of a hat. Yet she's also one of the most caring, loving people you'll ever meet. With a big heart of gold, Gabrielle would do nearly anything for someone in need, going to great lengths to help a stranger. She's extremely loyal, always there the second someone asks her for help. She doesn't have the greatest sense of humor, sometimes not getting a joke the first time around and will occasionally take things more seriously then most people. Gabrielle isn't one to lose her temper easily, and hardly ever raises her voice, but when someone crosses that line, she'll put them back in their place with a quick witted remark.

History: Being one of the seven original archangels, it's needless to say that Gabrielle has a very long history. She was often involved in fights with Lucifer, even before he was cast out of Heaven. Gabrielle decided to willingly go to Earth, to keep Lucifer from reigning his terror on Earth, and send as many of his followers to Hell as possible. Luckily, Michael made the same decision, so she wasn't alone in the fight. The centuries that followed were full of blood-soaked, never ending battles. Luckily they were aided in their fight by various beings that were brave enough to go against Lucifer that formed a group known as Heaven's Army. Finally, Gabrielle and Michael were victorious over Lucifer, and managed to lock him away, deep underground. Following Lucifer's second fall, his followers began to vanish and soon Gabrielle and Michael found themselves being able to blend in with humans, and finding a little peace and quiet, only being forced to move ever couple of years to keep people from noticing that they weren't aging as humans do. Most recently, they had settled into a lush apartment in Manhattan. But with the reappearance of Leviathan and Lucifer's followers, they've left their apartment and flew to Utopia, where they've recruited an elite group of beings to help them battle Leviathan. Some are new to the fight, while some were involved the first time around.

Extra: Gabrielle is a fierce and skilled fighter, having spent centuries upon centuries fighting Lucifer and his followers. She also speaks several different languages; English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and a few others.

Name: Damsel Fyre

Age: Appears 25

Species: Griffin/Chimera

Powers: From her Chimera side, Damsel has inherited the power to control fire, she can use this to create fireballs, shields of fire, and things along those lines. From her Griffin side, she can shape-shift from her human form into her Griffin form(pictured below). Also from her Griffin side, Damsel has inherited another power; while most Griffins can restore sight to the blind, Damsel's power is a bit different, she can heal wounds. However there is a catch to this, she can't heal her own wounds.

Weakness: Being a mix-breed is both a strength and weakness. While she has quite a few pros from both sides, she also receives two weaknesses. From her Chimera side, she is deadly allergic to lead, as Bellerphon discovered many years ago with her ancestors. And from her Griffin side, she's allergic to Unicorn dust. Also, probably needless to say; she isn't that fond of water either.

Personality: Damsel's personality matches her Griffin nature, she's highly overprotective of those she cares about, and would do anything for them, and Griffins are known as being guardians, they're considered to be "A protector from evil, witchcraft and secret slander". Griffins are known to gain courage and boldness from their lion and eagle natures, which suits her personality to a 't'. Since Damsel appears fearless, and isn't afraid of saying what she wants, when she wants, or doing whatever she pleases. Damsel is fiercely independent, she doesn't like for anyone to try to tell her what to do, she'll absolutely refuse. She's stubborn, and strong-willed, once she sets her mind to something, that's all there is to it and very little can change her mind. Damsel is sarcastic, and usually makes dry,sarcastic remakes. She can have a very fast temper at times, mostly if someone messes with someone she cares about, Damsel would literally rip anyone to shreds that tried. Damsel has a rock hard exterior, she has a sort of soldier's mentality, you could say. She always keeps a cool head under pressure and isn't the type to freak out. Damsel always tries to calm down those that do. Damsel always acts like the strong one and is willing to take on anything, she also acts as though she doesn't care if she survives a fight, but will fight tooth and nail. Damsel doesn't reveal emotions, emotions are weakness and weakness doesn't get you anywhere. Damsel does have a slightly softer side to her, which is rarely seen. Damsel has a very kick ass attitude and is always willing to jump head first into a fight, without thinking it through. She has strong survival instinct, obviously because she's survived a lot in her life, but Damsel is also willing to sacrifice herself for the cause, for the 'greater good' she says, or for a friend, 'better her then them', is her take. Damsel always keeps her face impressive, she rarely smiles. Damsel is extremely loyal and would do absolutely anything for a friend, she's always the first one there when needed.

History: Not much is known about Damsel's past. She was born and raised in Utopia, though she didn't live in any of the villages; her and her parents lived in a little cabin in the woods, only going into town when they absolutely had to. Damsel was perfectly happy with this life, she could practice her shape-shifting, controlling her fire, and learning her archery without having to worry about accidentally hurting anyone else. However, all of that changed one night when a group of beings suddenly invaded her home when she was 13. They killed her parents, and left Damsel for dead with a slit throat. Damsel, obviously, survived. She's been on her own ever since, struggling to get by in her early years. She began traveling, hardly staying in one place for longer then a few days. Most recently, Damsel was recruited by Michael and Gabrielle to help in their fight against Leviathan and Lucifer.

Extra(s): Damsel has a pet Familiar named Malaki. Malaki can shape-shift into any animal that he wishes, but he's a bit lazy and only does so when absolutely needed, usually choosing to remain in his favorite form, which is that of a black tabby cat. He's always with Damsel. He also never ages and heals quickly. Damsel's senses are similar to an animal, because technically, she kinda is one on some levels. Which means that her sight, hearing, smell, etc. are sharper then most. She's also a very skilled archer, rarely ever missing her mark.

Species: Fallen Archangel

Powers: Shadow Manipulation, Telekinesiss

Weakness: It is believed that Leviathan can't be killed, much like his brother Lucifer. However, that's not the truth, both Leviathan and Lucifer CAN be killed. . . by a special sword. However the whereabouts of said sword are currently unknown.

Personality: Cold, ruthless, calculating. Sinister. All of those perfectly describe Leviathan. He only cares about himself, first and foremost. He loves causing pain and destruction, spreading doom and gloom. The only reason that he plans on freeing Lucifer is because he needs his help in his own plan for domination over humans and immortals alike. Leviathan always has a game plan lined out his head, and somehow always manages to stay three steps ahead of others. He never does anything without already having a plan for the outcome of his actions. He's sarcastic and likes to taunt people, he tends to brag a lot just to annoy people. He's very clever, though sometimes he tends to be a little too cocky.

History: Leviathan's history dates back so many centuries that he doesn't care to count anymore. At the beginning of his existence, he was second in commend to Lucifer, and loved every moment of it. Then, he was cast out of Heaven along with his brother, and fell to Earth. Those first centuries were full of blood soaked battles and chaos, and Leviathan thrived on the chaos. However when Lucifer fell, Leviathan never saw it coming. It was the second time Leviathan had been thrown for a loop, the first time being when they were cast out of Heaven. Leviathan fell back into the shadows, biding his time as he plotted his revenge. He waited eons, waiting for the time to make his reappearance. During that time he built an army, gathering Lucifer's strongest followers to help him. He also discovered the location to one of the keys to Lucifer's cage.
